The National Museum of American Jewish History is slated to open its new building on Philadelphia's Independence Mall in 2006. The Museum's mission is to present experiences that preserve, explore and celebrate the history of Jews in America. By doing so, the Museum strives to connect Jews more closely to their heritage and to inspire in people of all backgrounds a greater appreciation of the diversity of the American Jewish experience and the freedoms to which all Americans aspire.
Raymond and Ruth Perelman Jewish Day School, Wynnewood, PA

Serving more than 750 children in grades K-8, The Raymond and Ruth Perelman Jewish Day School, a Solomon Schechter school, has four campuses in the greater Philadelphia area. In a warm, child-centered environment, boys and girls pursue both secular and Judaic studies. Mr. Kimmel's gift will ensure the financial future of the school and enable it to carry out its mission of providing quality general and Judaic studies to the broadest socioeconomic spectrum of students.
Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia, Philadelphia

The mission of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia is to help that community find meaning in its religious and cultural heritage, to build a caring community and to support global Jewish connections. The Foundation's gift will enable the Federation to become a true center of excellence as well as allow the Federation to strengthen and expand programs in a wide range of areas, including providing meaningful and engaging Jewish education throughout the life cycle, helping frail, elderly Jews remain in their homes and community, and helping the Jewish poor get out of poverty.
